Baku-APA. An Iranian military spokesman said that the rapid-response units of Iran’s anti-aircraft system deployed the country’s most up-to-date and domestically-built reconnaissance equipment in the latest aerial drills, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Iran’s army carried out "timely and covert" operations against the hypothetical enemy’s night attacks in complete radio and telecommunication silence in the latest military drills that aimed at maintaining readiness of a nationwide radar network, Colonel Abolfazl Sepehri, spokesman for the four-day military exercises, was quoted as saying.

Sepehri said that the units disrupted the navigational systems of the hypothetical enemies’ flying objects and succeeded in foiling imaginary enemy measures.

On Sunday, Press TV reported that Iran tested its passive radar system and electronic warfare equipment in the latest aerial drills.

Led by the Iranian Army’s Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base, the armed forces also employed domestically-developed artillery, missile and composite defense systems to counter possible radar disruptions and enemy’s telecommunications.

Iran started on Friday an aerial war game in the eastern part of the country.

On Saturday, Brigadier General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corp aerospace division, said that Iran would retaliate if the United States attacked it.

"The United States dares not to attack Iran, because in case it does so it will face a crushing response and be bitterly punished, " Hajizadeh told the state-run IRNA news agency.

Hajizadeh announced Monday that Iran’s ever-increasing prowess in missile technology will never come to a halt.
