Baku-APA. Three people have been killed and several others have been injured in clashes between Yemeni regime forces and anti-government tribal fighters in the southern city of Aden, APA reports quoting Press TV.

The clashes broke out in the port city on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, fighting took place between Yemeni tribal forces led by Sheikh Sadeq al-Ahmar and regime troops in Sana’a on Tuesday. One anti-regime protester was killed and several others were injured in the capital.

The deadly incident occurred as the Yemeni government and dissident General Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, supported by Sheikh Sadeq fighters, reached a ceasefire agreement last week.

Hundreds of people have been killed and thousands more have been injured since the beginning of the popular uprising against the regime of Ali Abdullah Saleh in late January.

Saleh has welcomed UN Security Council resolution 2014 that backs a power transfer deal brokered by the (Persian) Gulf Cooperation Council but he says he will only transfer power into “safe hands.”
