Baku-APA. Two soldiers were killed and five others were injured in separate bomb attacks in Baghdad and Iraq’s eastern province of Diyala on Monday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
In Diyala, two soldiers were killed and another injured when a roadside bomb struck their patrol in the town of Sa’diyah, some 60 km north of the provincial capital city of Baquba, some 65 km northeast of Baghdad, a source from Diyala’s operations command told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
In a separate incident, gunmen blew up a bomb planted in the house of a civilian in al-Tahrer district in southern Baquba, wounding two people inside, the source said.
In Baghdad, two civilians were wounded when a roadside bomb went off in al-Seliekh district in northern the capital, an Interior ministry source anonymously told Xinhua.
Violence is still common in the Iraqi cities despite the dramatic decrease since its peak in 2006 and 2007 when the country was engulfed in sectarian killings.
