Baku-APA. Israeli warplanes have attacked the Gaza Strip again, one day after an Israeli airstrike killed a Palestinian in the south of the territory, APA reports quoting Press TV.

Early on Wednesday morning, attacks hit two buildings south of Gaza City in the north of the enclave, but caused no deaths, AFP reported.

On Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike targeted the city of Khan Younis, Adham Abu Selmiya, the spokesman for health services in the Gaza Strip, said shortly after the incident.

The bombardment killed 25-year-old Mohammed Jamil al-Najar -- an alleged resistance fighter and a member of the al-Quds Brigade, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement.

Israel has increased and intensified its attacks on Gaza over the past few months, with many Palestinians killed or injured in the incidents.

In December, at least five people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.

It was one of the deadliest attacks by the Israeli military since Tel Aviv’s December 2008-January 2009 war on Gaza, which killed more than 1,400 Palestinians and inflicted over $1.6 billion in damage on the territory’s economy.
