Iranian new FM releases priorities

Baku – APA. At a ceremony on Saturday Ali Akbar Salehi, director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), took over as interim foreign minister.

According to Mehr Agency, A. Salehi has released the priorities of foreign policy.

“The first priority of Iranian diplomacy must be neighbour countries and Islamic World. Saudi Arabia and Turkey have special posts in this context” he said.

According to him, Saudi Arabia is a country having right to establish special political relations with Iran: “Iran and Saudi Arabia can solve many problems together, being as two main countries of Islamic World”.

A. Salehi called European Union to change its terms against Iran and switch to cooperation from confrontation. He also noted that, it was important to extend the relations with Syria, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia and China.
