Israel Says Troops Killed 2 Militants

Baku-APA. Israeli troops killed two Palestinian militants and a soldier was wounded during an exchange of gunfire on the Israel-Gaza border on Saturday, the army said, APA reports quoting The New York Times.
â€œSoldiers identified two suspects near the security fence in central Gaza,â€ an army statement said. â€œThe force fired towards the suspects, and they were killed as a result.
â€œDuring searches at the scene, shots were fired at the force, apparently resulting in the injury of one of the soldiers.â€
Gaza militants did not comment on the episode, and stormy weather in the area prevented ambulance crews from reaching the scene, a Gaza medical official said.
The wounded soldier was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Beersheba. The statement said he had moderate wounds.
It was the second time in three days that an Israeli was wounded.
On Wednesday, a civilian was lightly hurt by a mortar shell launched by militants from Gaza that landed in an agricultural community near the border.
