Southern Naval Command chief S S Jamwal killed in accidental fire

Baku – APA. A senior Indian Navy officer was Wednesday killed in accidental fire near the firing range of INS Dronacharya, a gunnery school near the southern naval base in Kerala’s Kochi city, APA reports quoting “The Times of Indiaâ€.
"I regret to inform that Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command, Rear Admiral S S Jamwal, died in an accidental firing at INS Dronacharya today (Wednesday)," Navy spokesman Commander P V S Satish said.
Satish said the circumstances leading to the accidental firing and the death of the 51-year-old officer were being investigated.
Jamwal was commissioned into the Navy July 1, 1980. He is survived by his wife Geeta and two children.
