Baku – APA. Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Parliament Alaeddin Boroujerdi said Wednesday that Iran has provided necessary cooperation for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the official IRNA news agency reported, APA reports quoting Xinhuanet agency.
"In all the stages (of nuclear program), Iran has been requiring cooperation with IAEA and we have performed under the regulations of the agency," Boroujerdi said, in response to IAEA chief Yukiya Amano’s fresh comments on Iran’s nuclear activities.
The IAEA chief on Monday accused Iran of not sufficiently cooperating with an investigation into its nuclear activities.
"The agency continues ... to verify the non-diversion of declared nuclear material in Iran, but we cannot confirm that all nuclear material in Iran is in peaceful activities because Iran has not provided the agency with the necessary cooperation," Amano told an IAEA board of governors.
A report of Amano indicates that he is unaware of Iran’s past cooperation with IAEA, Boroujerdi told IRNA.
The United States and its Western allies have been accusing Iran of secretly developing nuclear weapons under the disguise of a civilian program. Iran has denied the accusation and stressed its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes.
