Baku – APA. US president-elect Donald Trump has pledged to be a president for all Americans as he addressed his supporters at a rally in New York, CNN reported.
Speaking at a victory party in New York, Trump was gracious toward Clinton and called for unity.
“I just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us on – and it’s about us – on our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard fought campaign," President-elect Donald Trump said. "She fought hard. Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country. I mean that very seriously.”
He added: "I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans."
He continued: “It is time for us to come together as one united people.”
"Ours was not a campaign, but rather, an incredible and great movement."
Trump won with 288 electoral votes compared to 215 for Clinton, according to CNN projections.
