In his first-ever speech as the President of the United States, Donald Trump said he will rebuild the country, determine the course for the world, APA reports quoting sputniknews.
US is now transferring the power from Washington, DC to American people, Trump vowed.
The US has spent trillions of dollars overseas while its own infrastructure has suffered, Trump said. The wealth of the US middle class has been ripped from their homes and redistributed across the world, he added. The US must protect itself against other countries taking US jobs, he concluded.
"From now on, it will always be America first!" Trump proclaimed. "I will fight for you with every breath in my body and I will never let you down. We will bring back our dreams."
Trump said that the US does not seek to impose its way of life on other nations, but still wants to be an example.
"We will shine for everyone to follow," Trump promised.
Trump then pledged to unite the world against radical Islam: "The US will reinforce alliances against terrorism and form new ones. We will eradicate radical Islamists from the face of the Earth!"
He then proclaimed that "now arrives the hour of action", for "unlocking space, curing disease, unleashing new technologies, harnessing energy."
"Together, we will make America great again! God bless America! Thank you," Trump said ending his inaugural address.
