The administration of US President Donald Trump has asked Congress to approve new deliveries of weapons and military equipment to Israel worth about $1 billion, APA reports citing The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
The deal includes the sale of 4,700 450 kg bombs worth more than $700 million, as well as Caterpillar armored bulldozers worth more than $300 million.
The new arms demands will be met by the billions of dollars of annual US military aid to Israel.
The deal talks coincide with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Washington, where he is scheduled to meet with Trump on Tuesday to discuss the Gaza ceasefire, the ceasefire in Lebanon and the broader Middle East.
