U.S. President-elect Donald Trump sent a message to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy this week, urging him to “start thinking about a ceasefire and the abandonment of all temporarily occupied territories by Russia,” APA reports citing El Pais.
“(The Ukrainian authorities — ed.) like to say they want to reclaim their lands, but the cities are mostly destroyed. Look at some of these cities — not a single building is intact. So when you say ‘take back the country’… What is there to take back? These (battle-damaged settlements in Ukraine) will require 110 years of reconstruction,” the message from Trump stated, according to the newspaper.
