Washington views preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the Middle East as a priority, as Tehran's acquisition of a nuclear bomb would trigger an uncontrollable arms race in the region, stated US Vice President J.D. Vance in an interview with Fox News, APA reports.
"The United States has certain red lines. Our primary interest here is preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. We don't want nuclear proliferation. If Iran acquires nuclear weapons, there will be a multitude of other regimes—some friendly, some not so friendly—that will want to acquire nuclear weapons after them. That would be a disaster for the American people," Vance said.
