Job openings in the United States increased in September when compared to the previous month to stand at 10.7 million, up by 437,000, the country's Bureau of Labor Statistics shared in a report on Tuesday. The job openings rate stayed almost unchanged at 6.5% on a monthly basis, APA reports citing Tele Trader.
The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) revealed that the number of hires fell to 6.1 million, while the rate of hires saw little change at 4%.
The separation rates declined from August to 3.7% in September, while the total separations levels were down by 370,000 to 5.7 million. The quits rate was unchanged at 2.7%, while the layoffs and discharges rate changed little at 0.9%.
