Representatives of the United States, Japan and South Korea stressed once again that they are open to engaging in dialogue with North Korea "to discuss mutual concerns and shared interests," the US State Department said, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The State Department noted that US Special Envoy for North Korea Sung Kim, South Korean Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Kim Gunn, and Japanese Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau Director General Funakoshi Takehiro met earlier this week and "highlighted the growing threat from DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] cyber activities and emphasized the need to bring greater attention within the international community to cyber security issues and to address the DPRK's revenue generation through its unlawful deployment of overseas workers."
The meeting took place as tensions between the three countries and North Korea continued to intensify with Pyongyang launching missiles and the US sending a nuclear submarine to South Korea.
