The American military is considering building a military base near the Gaza Strip that could accommodate approximately 10,000 people, APA reports citing Bloomberg.
According to him, the US Navy has requested estimates from several companies for the construction of a "temporary autonomous military base near the Gaza Strip with 10,000 square feet of office space, capable of supporting 10,000 personnel for 12 months." Contractors are required to build the base on a turnkey basis and then provide services for power, food, water, and communications.
An unnamed US administration official told the agency that the US military's request represents a step toward preliminary planning for the establishment of a base for an international stabilization force.
