"We may be able to reach a deal with Iran after the elections," US President Donald Trump said during his address at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, APA reports.
"There is great hope for the future. But I think that after the elections, we will be able to reach a deal. Because they have no reason not to make a deal with me," Trump noted.
He stated that the other side is waiting for the midterm elections and their results.
"The only thing that matters to me is that Iran does not possess nuclear weapons," the US President said.
Trump also responded to claims regarding US ammunition stockpiles.
"Traitors are happily saying that the United States has stopped maintaining its vigilance. They don't have enough ammunition, but that is not the case," he stated.
Trump emphasized that ammunition production in the US is being carried out on a massive scale: "We are producing ammunition on an enormous scale, replenishing our stockpiles, and doing so faster than ever before. In addition, our plans for ammunition production will also be put into operation."
