US President-elect Donald Trump will require NATO member states to increase their defense spending to 5% of their GDP, APA reports citing Financial Times.
According to the Financial Times, he conveyed this demand to a number of European officials through his representatives.
According to the newspaper’s sources, Trump may eventually agree to an increase to 3.5% from the current 2%. The sources also told the Financial Times that Trump intends to continue the military aid to Ukraine despite the statements he made during his presidential campaign.
