U.S. President Donald Trump wants the European Union to impose additional customs duties on products imported from China, The Wall Street Journal released information citing sources, APA reports.
According to the publication, this step is being proposed as a condition for signing a trade agreement with Washington.
Sources say that the U.S. demands the European Union join the economic pressure campaign against China and apply new tariffs on Chinese goods.
However, the publication notes that China remains an important export market for the European Union, and the EU is not interested in a trade war with Beijing.
