No deaths have been recorded at the beaches supervised by the State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations since the start of the 2026 beach season, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement, APA reports.
According to the statement, the Service's diver-rescuers rescued 55 people who were at risk of drowning during the period in question.
It was also noted that diver-rescuers of the State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue recovered the bodies of 40 people who drowned in unsupervised, non-designated bathing areas and handed them over to the relevant authorities.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations once again urged the public not to use unsupervised water bodies that are not designated as beaches.
