United States President Donald Trump said that China would not attack Taiwan while he is in office, according to an excerpt from a CBS interview published on Sunday, APA reports.
He claimed that both Chinese President Xi Jinping and government officials repeatedly assured his administration that they will not escalate the crisis.
Trump added that Beijing is aware of the consequences of invading Taiwan, but did not reveal details. "You'll find out if it happens," he said. He also repeated that Xi did not mention Taiwan during their meeting last week.
