White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan reaffirmed Thursday that the government is not looking for confrontation with China, moreover is looking to cooperate where possible, APA reports citing Teletrader.
At the Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy at Brookings, and following that line of analysis, Sullivan noted that the US is working to reduce risks and diversify its economy but not to disengage from Beijing.
His remarks come at a time when the relationship between the two nations is being tested by the Taiwan crisis. At the same time, China has, in recent weeks, begun to play a more active role in the crisis in Ukraine.
