The degree of the wounds of the inmates was not immediately known. Spokesman Bill Lamoreaux, of the State Department of Corrections, has revealed that the Arizona prison fight consisted of approximately 300 Caucasian and Mexican-American prisoners and nearly 100 African-American inmates. One repercussion of the Arizona jail scuffle was that the prison officials scrapped the visitations for the whole day to the jail. The injuries of other inmates were being evaluated and remedied on-site.
Similar incident took place among 200 prisoners in that jail in September, 2012. The officials rapidly stopped the fight in half an hour.
