United States President Joe Biden picked Air Force General Charles Q. Brown Jr. as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), US media reported. He is expected to make the announcement on Thursday, APA reports citing Teletrader.
Brown has served as chief of staff of the Air Force since 2020. He was previously deputy commander of United States Central Command (CENTCOM) and commander of Pacific Air Forces. If confirmed, Brown will succeed Army General Mark Milley, who will step down after his four-year term expires in the fall.
