Bomb attacks injure 10 in southwest Colombia

Baku-APA. At least 10 people were injured on Friday as a couple of explosive devices went off in southwest Colombia, official sources said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The first attack occurred in a rural area in the municipality of Pradera, where a police patrol was ambushed. The blast wounded four policemen, who were sent to a hospital in Cali, capital of the Cauca Valley province, said the sources.

According to Cauca Valley Police Commander Col. Nelson Ramirez, a second device exploded when police and emergency response teams arrived at the scene, injuring another four policemen and two civilians.

The attacks took place around 9:00 a.m. local time (1400 GMT) Friday, and were believed to be the work of the "Gabriel Galvis" sect of the FARC (the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) rebels, the police chief added.
