Baku-APA. U.S. President Barack Obama spoke with his French counterpart Francois Hollande by telephone on Wednesday about economic issues in Europe, the White House said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
"President Obama spoke with French President Hollande today, continuing their dialogue on the economic developments in Europe," the White House said in a statement.
"They discussed the importance of continued efforts to promote growth and stability in the eurozone," it added.
The phone call came ahead of the upcoming European Union summit which begins on Thursday. The European leaders are expected to present a plan to quell the crisis.
