U.S. House Committee to Vote on Magnitsky List June 7

Baku-APA. The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs will vote on the Magnitsky List June 7, according to the committee schedule published on Saturday, APA reports quoting en.rian.ru website.
The bill seeks “to impose sanctions on persons responsible for the detention, abuse, or death of Sergei Magnitsky, and for other gross violations of human rights in the Russian Federation, and for other purposes.â€
Hearings are to start on Thursday at 10 a.m.
A group of influential U.S. senators, including former Republican presidential candidate John McCain, proposed the introduction of a blacklist of Russian officials allegedly linked to Magnitsky’s death in mid-March.
