Baku-APA. U.S. Border Patrol agents have seized nearly 4 tons of marijuana in the southern state of Texas in multiple operations over the Memorial Day weekend, local media reported on Wednesday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The largest seizure was made near La Casita, south Texas on Friday night, when agents saw a pickup truck being loaded with bundles of marijuana on the banks of the Rio Grande river, according to ABC news.
Agents stopped the vehicle and seized 1,500 pounds of marijuana. The driver jumped out and fled, the report said.
Another large seizure also reportedly took place near La Casita, where agents seized an SUV with 1,200 pounds of marijuana inside.
