Baku-APA. Mexican police Wednesday found the bodies of 10 people, some of them dismembered, in two vehicles in the small town of Ixtlahuacan in Mexico’s northwestern state of Jalisco, local police sources said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Initial reports from the state Attorney General’s office said police acting on a tip-off found the bodies, six in one vehicle and four in the other, in two abandoned vans parked alongside a motel on the highway to Chapala, a popular weekend retreat only a few kilometers from the state capital of Guadalajara.

Authorities also found a note signed by an organized crime group called the Milenio-Zetas.

The bodies were taken to Jalisco’s Institute of Forensic Science in Guadalajara.

Mexico’s second-largest city, Guadalajara saw a similar mass killing in November 2011, when police found the remains of 26 bodies stuffed into three vehicles.

More than 47,000 people have died since Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon came to power in 2006 and declared a war on organized crime and drug trafficking.
