Death toll in bus-truck crash in Mexico rises to 43

Baku-APA. The death toll in a bus-truck crash which occurred early Friday morning on a highway in Alamo- Potrero city, Mexico’s eastern Veracruz state has risen to 43, local government spokeswoman Gina Dominguez said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The accident occurred when a truck crashed into a passenger bus at around 4:30 am local time (0930 GMT), Dominguez said, adding that those injured, including 18 seriously, have been transferred to hospitals in the nearby port city of Tuxpan.
According to Dominguez, early reports said 30 were killed and more than 20 injured in the crash that occurred when the truck apparently dropped one box and hit the passenger bus traveling from the port of Coatzacoalcos to the northern border state of Coahuila, bordering with the United States.
Veracruz State authorities immediately offered help to the victims and sent an official to the scene to coordinate rescue and relief efforts.
The driver of the truck has escaped from the site of the accident, Dominguez said, adding the local Federal Police are making investigations.
She also said Veracruz state governor Javier Duarte has demanded the Public Ministry to make quick response and offer financial help to the victims.
