Baku-APA. A prominent political analyst says ties between Washington and Islamabad reached a new low months after the alleged killing of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden by US forces on Pakistani soil, APA reports quoting Press TV.

Navid Ahmad, an Investigative Journalist made remarks during an exclusive interview with Press TV on Thursday.

The remarks come as some White House officials suggest that Islamabad was aware of bin Laden’s location, demanding a strong response.

US President Barack Obama claimed that bin Laden was killed by US forces on May 1 in a hiding compound in Pakistan.

Pakistani lawmakers have recently condemned the US raid inside Pakistan that allegedly killed bin Laden, demanding a review of ties with the US and other Western countries.

Moreover, Pakistan has reduced sharply the number of US military trainers stationed in the country.

"The recent development of the Pakistani government not allowing more contractors from America to work inside Pakistan has further fueled controversies," Navid Ahmad said.

"The Pakistani government believes that all these contractors and most or some of the diplomats present in Pakistan are not really doing the work [that] they are supposed to be doing and that is that there is an element of understanding that these people are either involved in spying or gathering information or trying to create networks," he added

Pakistani authorities have suspected Americans of espionage activities in several cases.

Pakistan has already ordered over 250 American officials to leave the country.
