15 killed, 30 injured in bus accident in Venezuela

Baku-APA. At least 15 people were killed and 30 more injured in a car accident between three vehicles early Monday morning in southwest Venezuela, local police said, APA reports siting Xinhua.

The accident happened at 4:00 a.m. local time around a dangerous curve in Trujillo State when one of the freight vehicles ’ tyres burst, knocked over and hit one of the buses, officer of the National Institute of Land Transports told the official Venezuelan Television.

Police said the accident surprised the other bus, which was travelling from Chichiriviche in Falcon state to Merida, causing the tragedy.

Among those killed were four children under five years old. Most of the injured passengers from the Expresos Occidente company bus have been taken to a local hospital.

The bus drivers have been taken to the Police Office for investigation. The two buses belong to private transport companies Expresos Merida and Expresos Occidente.
