Baku – APA. White House Spokesperson Robert Gibbs said the U.S. was disappointed over Turkey and Brazil’s disapproval of the proposed sanctions on Iran, APA reports quoting turkishny.com web-page.

Gibbs who commented on the voting on sanctions against Iran in the UN Security Council at a daily press conference on Thursday, said, "I think the votes that we saw yesterday from Brazil and Turkey were disappointing. We have obviously a difference in approach."
He said the Iranians were unwilling to live up to the agreement signed last fall, even as late as only a few weeks ago. Referring to the Nuclear Swap Deal signed between Iran, Turkey and Brazil Gibbs said, it was not seen as a progress in the issue of Iran’s nuclear program.
"I would say that Iran was obviously concerned about the impact of these sanctions, because it did walk away from the agreement in last fall, it was trying to get at least partially back to only a few weeks ago. We will continue to work with friends and allies to create and maintain the coalition that we have, to demonstrate to the world how serious we all take Iran?s nuclear program. And I think I?d leave it mostly at that," said Gibbs.
I think we?ve ? well, first of all, we expect all UN members to carry out the will of the United Nations and the Resolution 1929. I think we have heard that ? at least from one of those two countries that they are committed ? they have committed to carry this out. And we fully expect that that will be the case.
Assistant Secretary of State Philip J. Crowley, who also commented on the sanctions resolution 1929 at a daily press briefing, said "we expect all UN members to carry out the will of the United Nations and the Resolution 1929."
He said Brazil publicly announced that they were committed to implement the resolution adding that there was no reason to think that Turkey would not fulfill its obligations as well.
Turkey and Brazil voted against resolution 1929 of the U.N. Security Council imposing a fourth round of sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.
The resolution was approved with 12 ’yes’ votes, two ’no’ votes from Brazil and Turkey, and one abstention from Lebanon.
