U.S. Secretary of State congratulated Azerbaijani President on the occasion of opening XVII International "Caspian Oil and Gas" exhibition

"I congratulate you and the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of opening XVII International "Caspian Oil and Gas" exhibition and conference. Your country is known in the world markets as an important and reliable supplier of energy. In fulfilment of its desire to bring people together through trade and investment, Azerbaijan is an example of the country, efficiently using its own energy. The efforts of your country by producing their own resources led to the discovery of jobs for thousands of citizens of Azerbaijan and the rapid economic progress. This, in turn, strengthened the independence of your country. By working closely with the regional neighbours, including Georgia and Turkey, Azerbaijan has successfully completed the construction of the energy corridor East-West, as well as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and South Caucasus gas pipeline. These projects demonstrate what can be achieved through devotion to and cooperation ", - Clinton said.

US Secretary of State added that the U.S. have a sense of pride in connection with the fact that Azerbaijan had been a partner in the implementation of these important projects. The United States supports the ongoing efforts of Azerbaijan to develop oil and gas fields and the diversification of routes of energy supplies.

"Increasing the energy security of consumer countries will benefit Azerbaijan as an extracting country. In particular, we sincerely wish the sustained leadership of Azerbaijan in the implementation of the "Southern Corridor" for transportation to Europe in the future. Taking into account the desire of Azerbaijan to the consistent development of its energy resources, the United States will be your strong partner ", - U.S. Secretary of State said.
