Baku-APA. Three people have been detained by US authorities over the Times Square bomb attack in New York City, but no terrorist charges have been yet made against them, APA reports quoting the official site of Press TV.

FBI investigators carried out searches in Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey in their continuing investigation into the failed bombing, which White House officials believe can be traced back to the Pakistani militants.

Alleged bomber Faisal Shazad has been charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and FBI officials say he is cooperating with the investigation.

The three newly arrested were detained during the searches for what authorities have described as possible immigration violations.

Faisal Shahzad, 30, was arrested after allegedly driving a bomb-laden SUV into Times Square, causing a mass evacuation of the area. The Pakistan-born US citizen was caught on a Dubai-bound plane following two-day manhunt.
