UN: Framework program on social, economic and environmental sustainability in tourism is being developed

"Within the framework of the COP conference in 2024, the Baku Declaration on sustainable development was adopted. Based on this Declaration, this year we are working on the development of a framework program related to social, economic, and environmental sustainability in the tourism sector," Natalia Bayona, Executive Director of UN Tourism, told journalists, APA-Economics reports.

N. Bayona noted that Azerbaijan plays a key role in the activities of UN Tourism: “Firstly, because Azerbaijan is represented on the Executive Council. This is our governing body. Secondly, Azerbaijan has proven to be an excellent partner by hosting international conferences held under the auspices of the UN.”
