In January-November of 2024, 2,412,000 foreigners and stateless persons from 195 countries visited Azerbaijan, which is 27.4% more compared to the same period of the previous year, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan told APA-Economics.
Of the visitors, 28.2% were from the Russian Federation, 16.1% from Türkiye, 8.9% from India, 8.0% from Iran, 4.1% from Georgia, 3.9% from Saudi Arabia, 3.3% from Kazakhstan, 3.0% from Pakistan, 1.8% from China, 1.7% from Uzbekistan, 1.6% from the United Arab Emirates, 1.4% from Ukraine, 1.2% each from Turkmenistan and Kuwait, 1.1% from Israel, and 1.0% each from Oman, Belarus, and the United Kingdom, the remaining 11.5% were citizens of other countries.
Of the total visitors, 67.0% were men, and 33.0% were women.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of visitors from India increased by 2.2 times, from Spain by 2.0 times, from South Korea by 2.0 times, from China by 1.9 times, from the Philippines by 1.6 times, from Kyrgyzstan by 1.5 times, from Kazakhstan by 49.8%, from Pakistan by 48.5%, from Oman by 45.0%, from Jordan by 41.6%, from Poland by 37.9%, from Italy by 37.0%, from the USA by 35.2%, from Iran by 30.4%, from the Netherlands by 28.5%, from Turkmenistan by 28.1%, from Germany by 28.0%, from Yemen by 27.7%, from France by 24.5%, from Saudi Arabia by 22.7%, from Tajikistan by 21.8%, from Egypt by 20.8%, from the United Kingdom by 20.3%, from the Russian Federation by 17.7%, from Uzbekistan by 16.2%, from Ukraine by 15.9%, from Türkiye by 13.9%, and from Moldova by 11.3%.
Compared to January-November 2023, the number of visitors from European Union member countries increased by 37.3%, reaching 106,000. The number of visitors from Gulf countries grew by 25.3%, reaching 391,900, while the number of visitors from CIS countries rose by 19.4%, totaling 905,800.
Of the foreigners and stateless persons visiting Azerbaijan, 75.9% traveled by air, 22.9% by railway and road, and 1.2% by sea.
