Tourist flow from Azerbaijan to Türkiye exceeded 500 thousand people

Compared to January-July 2023, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to foreign countries increased by 23.1% to reach 1,223,000, APA reports citing State Statistical Committee.

According to the information, the number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Iran increased by 37.8%, to Turkey by 19.3%, to the Russian Federation by 16.2%, and to Georgia by 15.9%. Of the Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad, 41.2% (503,876 people) went to Türkiye, 21.4% (261,722 people) to the Russian Federation, 8.7% (106,401 people) to Georgia, 8.6% (105,178 people) to Iran, and 20.1% (245,823 people) to other countries. Among the travelers, 65% were men and 35% were women.

From January to July 2024, 68.9% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air transportation, 28.9% used rail and road transportation, and 2.2% used sea transportation.
