Tourist flow from Azerbaijan increases by 17%

In January-November of this year, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad increased by 16.9%, reaching 1,998.9 thousand people, State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.

During this period, the number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Iran increased by 33.0%, to the Russian Federation by 13.4%, to Georgia by 13.0%, and to Türkiye by 9.9%. Among the travelers, 41.4% visited Türkiye, 20.6% went to the Russian Federation, 8.7% to Georgia, 8.6% to Iran, and 20.7% traveled to other countries. Of those traveling, 63.9% were men and 36.1% were women.

In 2024, from January to November, 69.5% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air transportation, 28.4% traveled by rail and road, and 2.1% used sea transport.
