In January-November of this year, 2.3 million foreigners and stateless persons from 189 countries of the world arrived in Azerbaijan, or 2 percent less than in the same period of the previous year, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
According to the information, 24.2 percent of the arrivals were citizens of the Russian Federation, 17.6 percent of Türkiye, 8.1 percent of Iran, 6.4 percent of India, 4.3 percent of Georgia, 4.2 percent of Saudi Arabia, 4.1 percent of Kazakhstan, 3.5 percent of Pakistan, 2.6 percent of China, 2.5 percent of Israel, 2.4 percent of Uzbekistan, 1.6 percent of the United Arab Emirates, 1.5 percent of Ukraine, 1.3 percent of Turkmenistan, 1.1 percent of each of Belarus and Great Britain, 1.0 percent of Kuwait, and 12.5 percent of other countries. 66.7 percent of the arrivals were men and 33.3 percent of women.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of arrivals from Israel increased by 2.3 times, from Tajikistan - 1.7 times, from Jordan - 49.6 percent, from China - 43.1 percent, from Uzbekistan - 38.6 percent, from Kyrgyzstan - 34.9 percent, from Japan - 26.4 percent, from Kazakhstan - 20.3 percent, from Pakistan - 12.5 percent, from Italy - 11.4 percent, and from Germany - 10.3 percent.
Compared to January-November 2024, the number of arrivals from European Union member states increased by 4.7 percent to 111.0 thousand people, the number of arrivals from Gulf countries decreased by 2.8 percent to 380.8 thousand people, the number of arrivals from CIS countries decreased by 7.8 percent to 804.5 thousand people, and the number of arrivals from other countries increased by 2.5 percent to 1,067.7 thousand people.
Of the foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Azerbaijan, 76.0 percent used air transport, 22.7 percent used rail and road transport, and 1.3 percent used sea transport.
