"We hope that in 2024, we will reach the numbers of 2019 in the tourism sector in Azerbaijan and the process of recovery of tourism will conclude," Head of Administration at State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kanan Gasimov told reporters, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that in all the cases, the main objective is increasing the number of tourists: "Therefore, we must implement various projects. Serious work is being conducted to eliminate seasonality, which is one of the biggest difficulties related to tourism in Azerbaijan, and to create new tourism products. There is great potential in our country in medical tourism. At the same time, projects are implemented in Azerbaijan regarding the development of event tourism. Along with these, serious steps are being taken in the direction of promoting investments in tourism and developing subsidy mechanisms in connection with tourists brought to the country, increasing flights to the country from other cities and ensuring the availability of services.
