Last year, the number of overnight stays in hotels and hotel-type establishments in Azerbaijan increased by 25.1% compared to 2023, reaching 4,282.8 thousand, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
60.9% of the total number of overnight stays took place in Baku, 4.6% in Khachmaz, 4.5% in Naftalan, 4.5% in Qusar, 4.2% in Gabala, 4.0% in Quba, 3.6% in Shabran, 2.5% in Lankaran, 1.2% in Shamakhy, 1.1% in Masalli, 1.0% in Gakh, 1.0% in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and 6.9% in hotels and hotel-type establishments in other cities and districts.
The number of overnight stays by foreigners and stateless persons increased by 26.0% compared to 2023, reaching 2,348.0 thousand, which accounts for 54.8% of the total overnight stays. Of the total overnight stays, 19.6% were by citizens of India, 13.1% by the Russian Federation, 7.8% by Saudi Arabia, 7.3% by Türkiye, 5.9% by the United Arab Emirates, 3.8% by the United States, 2.8% by Kazakhstan, 2.8% by Kuwait, 2.6% by Pakistan, 2.4% by the United Kingdom, 2.4% by Israel, 2.2% by Uzbekistan, 2.1% by China, 1.4% by Germany, 1.0% by Italy, 1.0% by Georgia, and 21.8% by citizens of other countries.
81.4% of the overnight stays by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku, 4.6% in Qusar, 4.4% in Gabala, 3.9% in Naftalan, 3.2% in Guba, 0.6% in Shabran, and 1.9% in other cities and districts.
The number of overnight stays by citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan increased by 24.2% compared to 2023, reaching 1,934.8 thousand, which accounts for 45.2% of the total overnight stays.
