Between January and June 2025, 1,217.4 thousand foreigners and stateless persons from 178 countries visited the Republic of Azerbaijan, which is 1.1% less compared to the same period of the previous year, APA-Economics reports citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the data, 25.8% of the visitors came from the Russian Federation, 17.6% from Türkiye, 9.4% from India, 8.2% from Iran, 4.2% from Georgia, 3.7% from Kazakhstan, 3.2% from Saudi Arabia, 2.9% from Pakistan, 2.1% from China, 1.9% each from Israel and Uzbekistan, 1.8% from the United Arab Emirates, 1.4% from Ukraine, 1.3% from Turkmenistan, 1.0% each from Belarus and Kuwait, and 12.6% from other countries. Of the total number of visitors, 67.9% were men and 32.1% were women.
It was noted that compared to the same period last year, the number of visitors from Israel increased by 1.9 times, from Tajikistan – 1.8 times, from China – 1.6 times, from Japan – by 44.3%, from Kyrgyzstan – by 40.5%, from Jordan – by 20.7%, from the Netherlands – by 19.1%, from Kazakhstan – by 18.3%, from the USA – by 17.7%, from Pakistan – by 16.7%, from Canada – by 16%, from Italy – by 13.2%, from South Korea – by 13.0%, from Germany – by 11.1%, and from Uzbekistan – by 10.3%.
Compared to January–June 2024, the number of visitors from European Union countries increased by 6.4% to 49.7 thousand people, the number of visitors from Gulf countries decreased by 7.0% to 186.0 thousand people, the number of visitors from CIS countries decreased by 7.3% to 422.9 thousand people, and the number of visitors from other countries increased by 5.8% to 558.8 thousand people.
Among all visitors, 74.3% traveled by air, 24.3% by rail and road, and 1.4% by sea transport.
