In January of this year, 181,800 foreigners and stateless persons from 158 countries visited Azerbaijan, which is 5.3% more compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the data, 23.4% of visitors were from the Russian Federation, 20.1% from Türkiye, 8.5% from Iran, 5% from India, 4.9% from Saudi Arabia, 4.8% from Georgia, 3.7% from Pakistan, 3.1% from Kazakhstan, 2.8% from Uzbekistan, 2.7% from Israel, 2.0% from Kuwait, 1.7% from the United Arab Emirates, 1.4% from China, 1.3% each from Turkmenistan and Ukraine, and 13.3% were citizens of other countries. Of the arrivals, 71.1% were men and 28.9% were women.
During the reporting month, the number of visitors from European Union member states increased by 41.9% to 7,200 people, from Gulf countries by 4.3% to 34,600 people, from CIS countries by 4.7% to 58,600 people, and from other countries by 3.8% to 81,400 people.
