In January–April 2025, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad decreased by 0.9% compared to the same period last year, amounting to 632,700 people, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistics Committee.
The number of Azerbaijani citizens visiting Iran rose by 25.9%, while travel to Georgia increased by 20.4%. In contrast, the number of citizens traveling to Türkiye dropped by 6.3%, and those visiting the Russian Federation decreased by 26.4%. Of all outbound travelers, 36.1% went to Türkiye, 16.1% to Russia, 11.1% to Georgia, 11% to Iran, and 25.7% to other countries. Men accounted for 66.9% of the travelers, while women made up 33.1%.
During the first four months of 2025, 68.0% of Azerbaijani citizens traveled abroad by air, 29.9% by rail and road, and 2.1% by sea.
