Number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling foreign countries decreases

In January-February 2025, the total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling abroad decreased by 0.1% compared to the same period last year, amounting to 296.3 thousand people, APA reports, citing the State Statistics Committee.

The number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Iran increased by 25.4%, to Georgia by 17.4%, while the number of those traveling to Türkiye decreased by 2.7%, and to the Russian Federation by 27.7%. Among the Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad, 36.9% went to Türkiye , 15.8% to the Russian Federation, 11.4% to Georgia, 10.7% to Iran, and 25.2% to other countries.

Of the travelers, 67.5% were men, and 32.5% were women.

In January-February 2025, 68.1% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air transport, 29.7% used rail and road transport, and 2.2% used sea transport.
