In January–June of this year, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad decreased by 0.7% compared to the same period in 2024, amounting to 988.2 thousand people, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
The number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Iran increased by 14.2%, and to Georgia by 25.3%, while trips to Türkiye decreased by 4.3%, and to the Russian Federation by 24.6%.
Of those traveling abroad, 38.1% went to Türkiye, 16.7% to Russia, 11.1% to Georgia, 10% to Iran, and 24.1% to other countries. Men made up 66% of the travelers, while women accounted for 34%.
In January–June 2025, 68.6% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air transport, 29.3% used rail and road, and 2.1% traveled by sea.
