In January-July of 2024, 1,502,700 foreigners or stateless persons visited the Republic of Azerbaijan from 182 countries, which is 31.4% more compared to the same period last year, APA-Economics reports citing State Statistical Committee.
According to the data, 29.2% of the visitors came from the Russian Federation, 16.5% from Türkiye, 9.3% from India, 8.3% from Iran, 4.2% from Saudi Arabia, 4.0% from Georgia, 3.2% from Kazakhstan, 2.7% from Pakistan, 1.7% each from Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates, 1.5% from China, 1.3% each from Ukraine and Kuwait, 1.2% from Turkmenistan, 1.1% each from Israel and Oman, 1.0% from Belarus, and 10.7% from other countries. Of the visitors, 67.1% were male and 32.9% were female.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of visitors from India increased 2.5 times, from South Korea by 2.3 times, from China by 2.1 times, from Spain and Kazakhstan each by 1.8 times, from Kyrgyzstan by 1.7 times, from the Philippines by 1.6 times, and from Pakistan by 1.5 times. Additionally, the number of visitors increased by 49.7% from Jordan, 47.0% from Oman, 46.5% from Iran, 42.8% from Saudi Arabia, 38.7% from Italy, 35.9% from Yemen, 33.0% from Turkmenistan, 31.8% from Poland, 29.3% from Kuwait, 29.2% from Egypt, 25.6% from Uzbekistan, 21.9% from the USA, 20.5% from Ukraine, 19.6% from Türkiye, 19.3% from Germany, 17.8% from Tajikistan, 16.9% from the Russian Federation, 14.3% from Bahrain, 13.5% from France, 11.8% from Georgia, and 7.5% from the United Arab Emirates.
Compared to January-July 2023, the number of arrivals from the Gulf countries increased by 39.6 percent to 258.8 thousand people, the number of arrivals from the European Union member states increased by 28.0 percent to 57.1 thousand people, the number of arrivals from the CIS countries increased by 20.5 percent increased to 576.1 thousand people.
