Mastercard: Kazakh tourists spend the most in Azerbaijan

This year, Azerbaijan received tourists from 178 countries, said Emil Zeynalov, Mastercard's country manager for Azerbaijan, at a press conference, APA-Economics reports.

He said that Türkiye is the leader in the list: "The UAE is in second place, the United Kingdom is in third place, and Kazakhstan is in fourth place. Saudi Arabia completes the top 5."

Emil Zeynalov noted that among these countries, Kazakh tourists are considered a premium segment due to the volume of transactions: "Tourist spending in Azerbaijan has increased by 10%. Most of the spending is related to overnight stays. On average, the cost of an overnight stay in a hotel amounted to 133 euros."

Emil Zeynalov added that the reception of tourists to Azerbaijan is not seasonal, but permanent: "Mastercard" analyzes customer data in this regard and shares how the tourism sector contributes to the economy.
