The total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad in January-September of this year decreased by 2.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 1,605,000 people, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the information, during this period, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Georgia increased by 22.0 percent, the number of those traveling to Iran increased by 2.6 percent, the number of those traveling to the Russian Federation decreased by 30.8 percent, and the number of those traveling to Türkiye decreased by 2.4 percent. 42.2 percent of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveled to Türkiye, 14.6 percent to the Russian Federation, 10.8 percent to Georgia, 8.9 percent to Iran, and 23.5 percent to other countries. 63.6 percent of those traveling were men, 36.4 percent were women.
In January-September 2025, 70.6 percent of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who traveled abroad used air transport, 27.5 percent used rail and road transport, and 1.9 percent used sea transport.
